1. Eligibility: The Visit Salem County Billboard Contest (the “Promotion”) is open only to legal residents of New Jersey who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, and directors of Salem County New Jersey (“Sponsor”), its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and household members, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate or win. Void where prohibited by law.
2. Promotion Period: The Promotion begins on June 1. 2025 at 12:01am EST and ends on September 30, 2025 at 11:59pm EST (the “Promotion Period”). All entries must be received by the end of the Promotion Period.
3. How to Enter: During the Promotion Period, you may enter by providing your email address at the designated entry form located at visitsalemcountynj.com/billboard-contest or our physical location at 110 5th St., Salem, NJ 08079. Limit one (1) entry per person per email address during the Promotion Period. Multiple entries from the same person or email address will be disqualified. Automated or robotic entries submitted by individuals or organizations will be disqualified. Any attempt by an entrant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, or any other methods, including, but not limited to, commercial contest/sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering services, will void that entrant’s entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Final eligibility for the award of any prize is subject to a review of all eligibility requirements by Sponsor.
4. Prize(s): Five (5) winners will receive a Visit Salem County hat (pictured on contest page). The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the prize is $25. No cash equivalent, transfer, or substitution of prize is permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable value. The winner is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, if any, associated with prize acceptance and use. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
5. Winner Selection: Five (5) potential winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. The drawing will be conducted on or about October 1, 2025 by Sponsor or its designated agent, whose decisions are final and binding. The potential winner will be notified by email at the email address provided at the time of entry within 10 days following the drawing.
6. Winner Notification and Verification: The potential winner will be required to respond to the notification email within 10 days of the date of notification. Failure to respond within the allotted time may result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternate winner may be selected. The potential winner may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and (where legal) a Publicity Release (collectively, “Prize Claim Documents”) within 30 days of date of issuance. Non-compliance with these requirements or the return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and prize forfeiture.
7. Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the Promotion constitutes winner’s consent to Sponsor’s and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
8. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Promotion, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures, human error, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize by conducting a random drawing from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
9. Release and Limitations of Liability: By participating in the Promotion, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Promotion or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Promotion; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) errors in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; (e) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Promotion or receipt or use of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Promotion, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
10. Privacy: Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, available at visitsalemcountynj.com/privacy-policy.
11. Disputes: Entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded, other than those concerning the administration of the Promotion or the determination of winners, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Promotion, but in no event attorneys’ fees. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New Jersey, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of New Jersey or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New Jersey.
12. Winner List: To obtain a list of the winner(s), send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Salem County New Jersey, Attn: Visit Salem County Billboard Contest Winner List Request, 110 5th St., Salem, NJ 08079. Requests must be received by December 31, 2025.
